One arrest has been made in the Monday night armed robbery that occurred at UT Martin.

According to reports, two students were allegedly robbed by four males armed with handguns and shotguns at University Village Apartments.

The four suspects kept the two victims separated and threatened to harm them if they didn’t give the men money. After the victims gave them approximately 700 dollars, they were released.

Both sustained minor injuries in the robbery, and were taken to Volunteer Community Hospital for treatment.

The investigation lead campus police to arrest 19 year old Richard Taylor of Martin on two charges of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping

UT Martin and the City of Martin Police are still searching for the other three suspects, and anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
