July 27th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

Atlanta Braves pitching held the St. Louis Cardinals to only four hits last night, as the Redbirds fell 4-1 on the road.

The Cardinals scored their only run of the night, and took a 1-0 lead when Yadier Molina homered in the 2nd inning.

The Braves tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning, when third baseman Chris Johnson hit an RBI single.

The big blow for Atlanta came in the 5th inning, when outfielder Jason Heyward homered on an Adam Wainwright pitch.

The loss dropped Wainwright’s season record to (13-6), while the Braves Mike Minor won his 10th game of the year.

The two teams will play Game 2 of their series this afternoon, with broadcast time on 1049 KYTN set to start at 1:10.
