Mitchell Boggs – 2 blown saves this season

The bullpen of the St. Louis Cardinals failed to hold the Philadelphia Phillies last night, allowing a 7-3 win.

The Cardinals took a 3-2 lead in the game in the 7th inning, when Allen Craig drove in Jon Jay.

Cardinal reliver Fernando Salas failed to hold that lead, when he pitched against Lance Nix in the bottom of the 7th.

In the 8th inning, reliever Mitchell Boggs recorded his second blown save this season for St. Louis, when he allowed the go ahead run, then a game ending 3-run home run to the Phillies Erik Kratz.

The loss dropped the Cardinals to (10-8) on the season, with Boggs falling to (0-2).

St. Louis will play the Washington Nationals tonight, in the nation’s capitol, with broadcast time on 1049 KYTN set for 5:10.
