Cardinals Fall to Mets

March 25th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

The St. Louis Cardinals took a 6-0 lead over the New York Mets Sunday afternoon, but it was not enough, as the Mets rallied for a 10-7 win.

The Redbirds took a 4-0 lead in the 3rd inning, when Pete Kozma hit an RBI double, scoring Allen Craig and Yadier Molina.

St. Louis added to that advantage with two more runs in the 4th inning, when Allen Craig doubled with two men on.

The Mets picked away at the lead, scoring a single run in the 5th and two in the 6th.

But in the 7th inning, New York rallied for six runs, taking the lead when Jamie Hoffman homered against St. Louis reliever Mitchell Harris.

Jon Jay had three hits on the day for the Redbirds, with four other players collecting two hits apiece.

The Cardinals take on the Minnesota Twins this afternoon, as they complete Spring Training this week in Florida.
