Adam Wainwright won his 10th game of the season, as the St. Louis Cardinals held on to beat the New York Mets 2-1 Thursday afternoon at Citi Field.

St. Louis broke open a scoreless game in the 3rd inning, when Matt Carpenter tripled after a Pete Kozma Single.

In the 8th inning, Carlos Beltran and Matt Holiday singled, with Allen Craig delivering what would be the game winning hit with two outs.

In the 9th inning, the Mets Marlon Byrd hit a solo home run to cut the score to 2-1, but Redbird closer Edward Mujica earned his 19th straight save by striking out Josh Satin with a runner on 3rd base.

Wainwright is now (10-3) on the year, holding the Mets to four hits in seven innings of work.

The Cardinals are now (43-23) and play tonight night in Miami.

Broadcast time on 1049 KYTN will start at 5:15.
