Lance Lynn won his 5th game of the season, as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2 at Busch Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The Redbirds took the lead 1-0 in the 4th inning, when Carlos Beltran hit a home run off of Reds starter Homer Bailey.

Cincinnati tied the game in the top of the 6th inning, but in the bottom half, Matt Carpenter’s third hit of the day gave St. Louis a 2-1 advantage.

Pete Kozma then added to the lead, giving the Cardinals the actual game winning RBI.

Daniel Descalso also added an RBI single in the three run inning, capping off the scoring for St. Louis.

In posting his 5th win of the year, Lynn pitched seven innings, allowing five hits, while striking out five.

The Cardinals now begin a four game series in Milwaukee tonight, with broadcast time on 1049 KYTN set for 6:15.
