Cards Beat Reds; Up Central Division Lead

The St. Louis Cardinals extended their Central Division lead last night with a 6-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium.

The Cardinals took the lead in the 1st inning, when Matt Holliday collected his 71st RBI of the season.

In the 6th inning, the Cardinals upped their advantage to 3-1on a two base hit by Allen Craig.

David Freese got in on the RBI stats in the 8th inning, making the score 5-1 on a single to left field.

Joe Kelly picked up his 6th win of the year for the Cardinals, who now lead the Central by 1.5 games over Pittsburgh and 4.5 games over the Reds.

Tonight the Cardinals will go for the three game sweep, with broadcast time on 1049 set to start at 6:20.
