The Philadelphia Phillies jumped all over St. Louis Cardinal starting pitcher Jamie Garcia last night, and cruised to a rain shortened 8-2 win.

The Phillies erupted for five first inning runs, two of those coming on an error by Redird third baseman Ty Wiggington.

The Cardinals cut the score to 5-1 in the second inning, when for the second straight night, Carlos Beltran took a pitch out of the park.

Philadelphia got an RBI single from Chase Utley in the second inning, and in the third inning, collected an RBI hit from Humberto Quintero and a run scored on a wild pitch by Garcia.

The Cardinals got their last run of the night in the seventh inning, when Matt Holliday connected off of Phillies starter Roy Halladay.

The game was called after a 35 minute rain delay following the Cardinals at-bat in the seventh.

Garcia allowed nine hits in his three innings of work, and was tagged for all eight runs.

The Cardinals and Phillies will play Game 3 tonight, with the broadcast on 1049 KYTN set for 5:10.
