Chamber Banquet Held in Union City

The Obion County Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held last night, with a full attendance at the Hampton Center in Union City.

During the banquet, two local educators were honored for their work in the county, while a Business of the Year was also recognized.

Chasity Homra, of the Obion County School System, and Kristen Miles, from the Union City School System, were named Co-Educator’s of the Year for their work with “Rachels Challenge” which focuses on bullying and tragedy of Rachel Scott, who was a victim in the Columbine High School shootings.

Union City Insurance was honored during the program for this year’s Business of the Year.

The Agency was recognized for its 100 year commitment to Union City and Obion County.

Union City Insurance is managed by Jim Rippy, who has announced his retirement at the end of the year, and is owned by the Tanner family, who were recognized for the businesses success.
