Chase through Obion and Dyer Counties

February 13th, 2013 - By Steve James

A Union City theft suspect is in custody after leading authorities on a chase through two counties.

The incident started Tuesday afternoon in Union City when officers recognized the suspect Mike Walker, while he was driving through town. Walker had several active warrants for his arrest and he’s a suspect in a theft case.

Walker reportedly refused to pull over and officers pursued him onto I-155 heading into Dyer County.

The Highway Patrol, The Obion County Sheriff’s Department, The Dyer County Sheriff’s Department, along with Newbern Police all joined the pursuit and were able to box the car in about one mile from the Newbern exit on I-155.

Walker reportedly then tried to flee on foot and had to be tazed. On top of the previous warrants, he’s now facing various resisting and evading arrest charges
