Christmas Murder in Dyersburg

December 26th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

crime sceneDyersburg police are still investigating a Christmas shooting in Dyersburg that left one man dead and another injured.

Assistant Police Chief Steve Isbell reported that just before 4:00 in the morning, officers were called to 620 Peabody Street, where 34 year old Quincy Terry, of Dyersburg, and 43 year old James Simonton, also of Dyersburg, were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Terry was pronounced dead at the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, while Simonton was treated at the shooting scene and released.

Chief Isbell said multiple bullet holes were found in houses and cars in the vicinity of the fatal shooting, that required additional crime scene investigators to work.

At this time, Isbell said no arrests have been made, and Dyersburg police are requesting the help of any witnesses to the shooting to relay the information to CrimeStoppers or the Police Department.
