County Unemployment Numbers

The unemployment rates decreased slightly in many of the 95 counties in Tennessee including several local ones.

For the month of April, Weakley County came in at 10.8 percent which was a decrease from 11.2 percent in March. Obion County, which has consistently ranked in the top five for highest unemployment rate, dropped out of the top ten with a rate of 11.5, which went down from 12.6 percent in March .

Gibson County currently has the fourth highest rate at 12.4 percent but that’s also a decrease from the March rate of 13 percent. Carroll County is rated number nine with 11.6 but that dropped from 12.3 percent.

Lake County currently has a rate of 10.7 percent, Dyer County comes in at 11.3, and Henry County is at 10.5

The county with the highest rate is Scott County with 16.1 percent and the lowest is Williamson with 5.3

The rate decreased in 62 counties, increased in 23, and stayed the same in ten.
