Critical Incident Buckets in Schools

February 1st, 2013 - By Steve James

If you happen to be in a classroom at one of the schools in Martin, you might notice a bucket filled with different types of items, but it’s there for a very important reason.

The buckets are part of a program called Critical Incident Bucket, or C-I-B for short.

The CIB program places a five gallon bucket in classrooms filled with first aid supplies and other needed items in the event of a critical incident.

The program was started in an attempt to better equip each teacher and classroom with needed items in the event of an emergency situation to better protect and care for children

The program originally began at Martin Westview back in 2011 but with the help of donations by local civic groups, the CIB buckets are now in the classrooms at Martin Middle, Martin Elementary and Martin Primary School.
