Cubs Beat Wainwright, Cardinals 4-2

Cardinals 2The Chicago Cubs used a big 1st inning to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 last night at Busch Stadium.

The Cubs got all of their runs in the game off of Redbird ace Adam Wainwright, with Ryan Sweeney making the game 3-0 on a two-out long ball.

Following Sweeney was Cubs first baseman Cody Ransom, who then made the score 4-0.

St. Louis scored their first run of the night in the 6th inning, when Carlos Beltran homered off of Chicago starter Jeff Samardjia.

Yadier Molina added an RBI single in the 9th inning, as the Cubs evened the series at one game apiece.

The loss dropped Wainwright to (10-4) on the year.

The two teams will play again tonight, with broadcast time set for 6:20 on 1049 KYTN.
