Event at Reelfoot Lake

April 3rd, 2013 - By Steve James

Reelfoot Lake State Park will host its third annual “Knap-In” event later this week.

Knap-In visitors will observe how Native Americans made arrowheads and other tools for survival.

Re-enactors will dress in period clothing and craftsmen will showcase a variety of primitive skills including flint knapping, fire-starting, bow-making, blow guns and pottery

Archaeologists will also be on site to assist visitors in identifying and aging any personal Native American artifact collections.

The Knap-In will be held at the Reelfoot Lake State Park Visitor Center on Friday April the 5th from noon until four and events will start at ten in the morning on Saturday the 6th.
