Fincher to Talk About the Mississippi River on Monday

March 2nd, 2013 - By Steve James

Congressman Stephen Fincher will be in Ripley on Monday to discuss the Mississippi River.

Congressman Fincher recently announced the formation of a bi-partisan Mississippi River Caucus to provide an open forum to discuss the issues that affect the entire reach of the Mississippi river.

The Mississippi is the fourth-longest river in the world, stretching over 2,300 miles, and more than half the goods and services consumed by Americans are produced or supplied by water that flows through the Mississippi River and its tributaries.

The Congressman will be joined at the speaking engagement by the Executive Vice President of the Mississippi Valley Flood Control Association, Rob Rash.

It’s scheduled for Monday March the 4th from nine until ten in the morning at the Tennessee Technology Center in Ripley.
