Former Martin Resident Giving Presentation

A former Martin resident is coming back to town to give a presentation about the brain and how it relates to communicating.

Dr. Johnathan Prather will be here Monday March the 18th in the University Center Ballroom to present the topic “How the brain enables us to learn by imitating others: a neural basis for vocal communication.

Since leaving Martin, Dr. Prather earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Emory University. Dr. Prather has also completed post-doctoral studies at Emory and Duke University.

He’s also been a guest speaker on National Public Radio’s “On Science” and “All Things Considered. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology and Physiology at The University of Wyoming.

The event is open to the public and will start at six o’clock on the 18th in the Ballroom in the University Center
