Greenfield Board Meeting

December 12th, 2012 - By Steve James

Dogs were hot topic of discussion at the Greenfield city board meeting last night.

Several residents of Shelby Street brought the issue up of a neighbor with loud barking dogs that ran loose around the neighborhood. They said the dogs bark all the time, and even reportedly bit a few people.

Mayor Cindy McAdams said she and Police Chief Danny Harris would look into the matter and find a solution to the issue.

In other business, the Board decided what projects would be covered when the city applies for the Community Development Block Grants.

The projects will be the city hall and fire station generator, and the town’s water pump system. Estimates for the cost should be done in February, and then they’ll submit the application for the grants.

The Board also heard from Greenfield Advancement Association President Rick Williams. Mr. Williams said his group is still looking at grants through a downtown revitalization program. The project would cover installation of items such as new sidewalks and lighting.

At the next board meeting, they’ll hear the project’s estimated cost, and discuss how to move forward. That meeting gets underway at 5:30 on January the 8th
