Greenfield Board Meeting

June 12th, 2013 - By Steve James

The City of Greenfield officially approved the 2013-2014 fiscal year budget at Tuesday night’s board meeting.

The budget is approximately $1.2 million dollars and the property tax rate is the same as last year’s and it’s $1.60 per $100 dollars of assessed value

The water and sewer rate will stay the same as well and it’s approximately $40 dollars with 3,000 gallons of minimum water usage.

In other business, Mayor Cindy McAdams and aldermen approved a Delta Regional Authority grant application that will help extend the sewer line on Highway 124.

If the city is awarded the grant, it would be for approximately $200,000 dollars and the city’s share would be around $42,000 dollars.

The board also approved a motion to buy nine acres of land around the Walnut Street and Highway 54 area to build a new waste water lift station. Lift stations are designed to move waste water from lower to higher elevations.

In public works news, the Greenfield board approved a paving bid for approximately $86,000 dollars that will cover work on Jefferson and Garland Streets along with Crestview Drive. The board also approved purchasing a truck for $13,500 dollars.

The Greenfield board will meet again next month on Tuesday July the 9th at 5:30 in the Community room.
