Group Raising Funds for Tennis Courts in Greenfield

December 12th, 2012 - By Steve James

A group of Greenfield residents are spearheading an effort to build a set of tennis courts for the high school team and for the community.

The Greenfield Tennis Project Committee is made up of Chairman Frank Gibson, Tennis Coach Bill McCall and Aldermen Troy Jones and James Roy Pope.

Mr. Gibson said The Greenfield High School tennis team is one of the most successful teams in the area. They’ve won the past five district titles, the past two regional titles and have gone to state twice, but don’t have a home court.

The group is trying to raise $200,000 dollars to build four lighted courts and they’re going to be located next to Greenfield Park by the baseball fields.

Greenfield Banking Company and First State will announce a partnership with the group tomorrow to help raise funds and for more information, you can contact any committee member.
