Hearing Moved for UT Martin Students

December 5th, 2012 - By Steve James

The three UT Martin students charged with robbery and kidnapping have had their preliminary hearing moved to later this month.

22 year old Jeremy Anderson of Knoxville, 21 year old Cortez Bowen of Memphis, and 19 year old Richard Taylor of Nashville, all face charges of aggravated kidnapping and especially aggravated robbery after they allegedly held two students at gunpoint and demanded money and drugs from them.

17 year old Quinton McClerkin of Paris faces the same charges, and his case will be heard by the January term of the grand jury on Monday the 7th.

Since both Bowen and Taylor made their bond, they were no longer eligible for a public defender, and that’s why the hearing was moved.

Anderson is still in the Weakley County Jail, and all three will be appear in General Sessions in front of Judge Tommy Moore on Wednesday December 19th.
