Help Needed for Weakley Veteran

October 10th, 2012 - By Charles Choate

A Union City organization is asking for assistance to help a Weakley County veteran, whose home was damaged by fire.

Rob Adcock, of Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services, is looking for individuals, businesses, or groups, to help repair the home of 63 year old Roger Cook, of Latham.

Adcock said Cook’s utility room burned, but firefighters were able to save the remainder of the residence.

Due to the fire and smoke damage, Cook has been moved to a relatives residence in Murray, Kentucky, but Adcock said the home can be repaired.

The director is now asking for the donation of labor, and possible supplies, to get the veteran back into his residence.

Adcock is requesting that anyone who may want to help, including church, school or civic groups, to call him at 592-3947 for more information.
