Inmates Captured Near Covington

April 4th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

Two inmates, who escaped from the minimum-security annex of the West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning, have been recaptured.

The Tennessee Department of Corrections said 21-year-old Ashton Siler and 20-year-old Dustin Wayman were found Wednesday morning in a wooded area near Highway 51, just outside Covington.

The inmates had escaped the jail on Monday.

Siler is serving an eight-year prison sentence for drug convictions out of Madison County, and was eligible for parole next year.

Wayman was serving a two-year sentence for auto burglary out of Knox County, and was set for release in January.

Department of Corrections reports said both men now face an additional five years in prison if convicted of escape.
