A Jackson man appeared in Jackson city court Wednesday on two counts of first degree murder.

31 year old Anthony Montrell Swift was apprehended by the Jackson Gang Unit and U.S. Marshal’s officers in connection with the shooting deaths of Brian Banes and Delandis Clark, both 31 years old.

The two men were shot to death during a graduation party for Lane College on April 28th.

After Swift was determined to be the suspect in the case, officers arrived at a Jackson location and took him in to custody.

The officers also discovered a .45 caliber handgun and .45 caliber bullets in Swift’s possession.

Police reports said two other people suffered gunshot wounds during the shooting, but were treated at a Jackson hospital and released.
