November 29th, 2012 - By Steve James

The 17 year old male, who was one of the four suspects in the alleged robbery and kidnapping of two UT Martin students, will be tried as an adult.

Quinton McClerkin of Paris had his transfer hearing this week before Juvenile Judge James Bradberry. Judge Bradberry made the determination that McClerkin’s case would be transferred from Juvenile Court to Circuit Court.

His bond was set at $100,000 dollars, and the case was bound over to the January term of the Weakley County Grand Jury.

The other suspects, who are all UTM students, 19 year old Richard Taylor, 22 year old Jeremy Anderson, and 21 year old Cortez Bowen have their preliminary hearing next Wednesday the 5th.

The four are accused of robbing two other students at gunpoint and stealing a large amount of marijuana and over 700 dollars in cash. All suspects were charged with two counts of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.
