Kentucky Receipts Released

Budget officials in Kentucky have reported an increase in October receipts over last year.

Director Mary Lassiter reported the states total revenue for the month at just over $725 million dollars, an increase of 3.7 percent.

Lassiter said October’s receipts were an increase of almost $26 million dollars over the collection of October in 2011.

Despite in the increase in overall funds, the Director did indicate that some accounts were still underperforming.

Lassiter specifically eluded to the state sales tax and coal severance tax collection.

Reports showed sales tax collections have experience a 1.4 percent decline over the past four months, while the coal tax has dropped by over 40-percent.
