Kidnapping Suspect Headed to Middle Tennessee For Charges

March 22nd, 2013 - By Steve James

The Weakley County man involved in the alleged kidnapping and assault of a Middle Tennessee woman will be heading back there to face the charges.

22 year old Athnasios Edmonston of Greenfield was arrested in late November in Sharon after allegedly beating and then kidnapping 21 year old Brentwood resident Bethany Campbell.

In Weakley County, he was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and vandalism. In Brentwood, he’s facing charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.

At his status hearing in Weakley County Circuit Court Thursday, it was announced Edmonston will first face the charges in Brentwood.

Authorities said it would be easier to try him in Williamson County so any evidence wouldn’t have to be transported and the victim still live there as well.

Edmonston has another status hearing in Weakley County on Thursday April the 25th, and he’ll be transported to the Williamson County Jail in the coming weeks.
