More Charges Filed in Bradford Fire Case

February 6th, 2013 - By Steve James

More charges have been filed in connection to the deadly fire that occurred in Bradford late last month.

According to the original police affidavit, 33 year old Robert Lee Phillips was charged with reckless burning after Philips and another person entered a vacant house on Highway 45 South and started a fire in a bath tub. The fire grew out of hand and only Phillips was able to escape.

The owner of the home has now verified that he didn’t know Phillips and he entered the home without permission, so Phillips has now been charged with Felony Vandalism over $10,000 dollars.

A status hearing in the case is set for Tuesday March the 19th in Gibson County General Sessions Court in Trenton.

Formal identification of the person who died is still pending.
