Obion County School System Closed for Flu

December 6th, 2012 - By Charles Choate

The Obion County School System will close their doors until Tuesday, due to an outbreak of flu and strep.

Director of Schools David Huss spoke with KYTN News and said the decision was made in part, due to a large amount of sick students Thursday at Central High School.

Huss said the flu had not reached a critical point in all county schools, but the threat of its spreading played a part in the closure.

Huss say all activities, including basketball games and practices have ceased until classes return to session next week.

Plans are to reschedule tonight’s home basketball games of Obion County against Ripley, along with Greenfield at South Fulton.

Last night’s middle school games of Martin Middle at Lake Road, Fulton City at Hillcrest and Black Oak at Ridgemont were also canceled.
