Odle Facing Weapon Charges Now

December 18th, 2012 - By Steve James

One the men involved in the highly publicized Weakley County animal abuse case has been arrested on weapons charges.

According to reports, the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department received a call over the weekend about shots being fired near a home north of Dresden.

The complainant was actually a law enforcement officer, so he found the vehicle and told the driver, 19 year old Preston Ray Odle of Dresden, and the four minor passengers to stay there until authorities came.

Odle told deputies that he was driving the vehicle when one of the minors shot a rifle out of one of the windows. The 15 year old stated he shot the gun because he was trying to kill a deer.

Odle was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He’ll appear before Judge Tommy Moore tomorrow afternoon in Weakley County General Sessions Court.

The minor in the case faces charges of firing a weapon from a right of way, and possession of a deadly weapon.
