Odle Found Guilty of Violating Probation

January 17th, 2013 - By Steve James

Following his appearance in Circuit Court, Dresden native Preston Odle has been found guilty of violating his probation.

Odle appeared in front of Judge Bill Acree to determine if he violated his probation after a December incident in which he was reportedly driving a vehicle while a minor passenger was shooting at a deer.

He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, but the firearms charges was dismissed. He was later sentenced to 45 days in jail for the contributing charge.

Odle was originally on probation following the incident in May in which he pled guilty to aggravated animal cruelty after admitting to torturing a puppy to death.

Judge Acree determined Odle did in fact violate his probation and will have a sentencing hearing on January the 21st.

Over twenty members of two different animal advocates were on hand for the hearing.

Justice for Puppy Doe Spokeswoman Lisa Oatsvall, said she was happy with the ruling and was ready to see justice served

Advocates for Companion Animals Spokeswoman Susan Lyngass said because of Odle’s continuing actions, he deserves the maximum sentence

Odle faces up to two years in prison for the probation violation.
