Prison Sentence for Brownsville Man

January 24th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

A Brownsville man has been handed a 151 month federal prison sentence in Jackson on drug charges.

U.S. Attorney Edward Stanton III said 29 year old Mario Seymour will serve the time for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine and marijuana.

Seymour pled guilty last October to conspiracy to distribute more than 280 grams of crack cocaine, along with five kilograms of cocaine and marijuana.

Investigations by the TBI, Drug Enforcement Administration and Bolivar Police, revealed that Seymour was a prominent member of a drug trafficking organization engaged in the distribution of the drugs.

Upon his arrest in January of 2012, Seymour was also found to be in possession of approximately $103,000 in cash, in which police seized due to drug related ties.
