Several Area Residents Arrested on Drug Charges

January 25th, 2013 - By Steve James

Nine people have been arrested on various drug charges this month by Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.

Earlier this month, investigators served a search warrant on a home on Old Bethel Road on the Palmersville Highway. During the search, authorities found a meth lab and the drug itself.

The two people present in the home, 35 year old Christopher Wayne Jones and Donna Faye Copeland of Fulton, were both charged with the manufacture and possession of meth.

While there, a vehicle pulled in and deputies searched them as well. 22 year old Anthony Daniel Travis was charged with possession of meth after two plastic baggies of the drug were reportedly found in his pocket.

20 year old Dakota Doughty of Wingo was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of schedule two prescription pills after the items were found in the vehicle.

In the other incident, authorities searched a home on State Line Road in Dukedom and found meth, marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia.

45 year old Philip Duane Morgan. 34 year old Tobey Elaine Morgan, and 20 year old Seth Morgan were all charged with possession of meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Philip and Tobey Morgan were also charged with promotion of meth manufacturing after a check of cold medicine purchase logs showed the pair bought it 32 times in 2012.
