At the Tennessee Middle School tournament last night:

Memphis Lester defeated Memphis Cory 61 to 29

and Memphis Cypress 57 defeated Memphis Airways 57 to 45

 

Tonite: in the girls semi final game

Martin Middle will play Vance

while Paris Inman will play Bolivar.

These games are being played at Martin Middle School.

 

Today: in a make up game South Gibson is at Obion Central air time 3:10 tip off at 3:30 104.9

After the game Central and South Gibson will join other schools in Dyersburg to set the 13-AA tournament bracket.

 

South Fulton, Greenfield, Union City and other 14-A teams will learn whom they will play when they have a lunch time meeting today in Union City to set their bracket.

 

13-A schools hope to learn if their bracket will be set. They include Dresden and Gleason schools and they have a meeting today in Huntingdon.

The U T Martin will play host to the Longwood University Lancers in the Ramada Worldwide Bracket Busters series on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Lancers are currently 3-20 overall with a 0-9 Big South Conference record. Located in Farmville, Va. The Skyhawks are 3-4 all-time in the BracketBusters event, which features 122 teams featuring 15 collegiate athletic conferences in its 11th and final year. Former UT Martin Coach Cal Luther was head coach at Longwood from 1981 til 1990. and that school’s all-time winningest coach – posting five winning seasons while going 136-105 as bench leader for the Lancers. Less than a year after leaving Longwood, he was appointed UT Martin’s head coach in December 1990 and led the team until 1999,

 

Meanwhile, the Murray State Racers were paired with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits  The Racers and Jackrabbits, who have never met before, have also been selected for one of 13 televised games in the event on ESPN2.
