Stabbing Case Headed For Grand Jury

December 13th, 2012 - By Steve James

The case of the Greenfield man accused of stabbing an Union City woman has been bound over to a grand jury.

26 year old Willie James Walker the second appeared in Obion County General Sessions this week for his preliminary hearing on charges of second degree attempted murder and theft over $1,000 dollars.

The charges stem from the October attack of 27 year old Christina Jimmerson, who was reportedly stabbed over 60 times. Mrs. Jimmerson sustained wounds all over her body and lost her right eye and part of a finger on her left hand during the attack.

Walker was initially charged with attempted first degree murder, but was amended to second degree pending the outcome of a mental evaluation.

The evaluation results will be discussed when the case is heard by the February term of the Obion County Grand Jury and Walker remains in jail on a $250,000 dollar bond.
