Suspects Hearing Moved to December

The preliminary hearing for the three UT Martin Students charged with robbery and kidnapping has been moved to next month.

22 year old Jeremy Anderson of Knoxville, 21 year old Cortez Bowen of Memphis, and 19 year old Richard Taylor of Nashville are all charged with two counts each of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of kidnapping for allegedly holding two students at gunpoint, and taking marijuana and money from them.

Bowen and Taylor had their bond reduced from $150,000 dollars down to $50,000, and all three will appear in Weakley County General Sessions again on Wednesday December 5th.

Anderson is represented by Weakley County attorney Lang Unger, Bowen’s attorney is Beau Pemberton of Dresden, and Taylor is represented by Skip Riley of the Public Defender’s Office.

The 17 year old male also charged in the incident will have a hearing this Tuesday to determine if he will be tried as an adult.
