A trial date was set this morning in Fulton County, Kentucky for the man accused in the murder of Hickman Mayor Charles Murphy.

During a pre-trial conference, Circuit Judge Tim Langford set a trial date of April 22th thru 24th for Tommy Lattus, also of Hickman.

The date was approved by Commonwealth Attorney Mike Stacey and Lattus’ attorney Dennis Null.

During the conference, Null did request another pre-trial meeting, in which a possible plea agreement may be in order.

Judge Langford set that date for February 14th.

Lattus was in court for the pre-trial conference this morning, but did not speak.

He is facing murder charges after admitting to Hickman police officers to breaking-in Murphy’s home, during the early morning hours of January 23rd, and shooting him with a shotgun.

Lattus continues to be held in the Fulton County Detention Center on a $1-million dollar bond.
