Utah State Transfer to UT-Martin

July 18th, 2013 - By Charles Choate

SkyhawksUT-Martin football coach Jason Simpson has announced a new transfer for the Skyhawk football team.

Simpson announced Wednesday that 6’2”, 230 pound running back Abou Toure has transferred from Utah State and will play for two seasons.

The Aggies set a school record last season with 11 victories, including a perfect 6-0 Western Athletic Conference record.

Utah State also finished the year ranked 16th in the nation in Associated Press polls.

Simpson said he was excited about having Toure on the team, adding that it was always good to have big, physical running backs.

Toure played in only one game last season with the Aggies, carrying the football two times for six yards in the season opening 34-3 win.

Toure led his Massachusetts high school team to the 2009 State Championship, as he amassed over 1,200 yards rushing with 11 touchdowns.
