Vols Have New Coach

December 7th, 2012 - By Charles Choate

The University of Tennessee has announced that 44 year old Butch Jones will be the new head football coach.

The move comes after Louisville coach Charlie Strong rejected an offer at the job to remain with the Cardinals.

Jones now comes to the Volunteers after three years of being head coach at Central Michigan and Cincinnati.

Cincinnati posted a 9-2 record this season and invitation to face Duke in the Belk Bowl.

Jones has a 50-27 lifetime record with the two schools and is expected to make between $2.7 and $3 million dollars per season in Knoxville.

A press conference will be held this afternoon at Neyland Stadium in which Jones will be introduced by university officials.
