Area residents will be given the opportunity to ride in a World War II airplane this Saturday, to benefit Discovery Park of America.

As part of the Airport Expo, at Everett Stewart Regional Airport in Union City, local pilot Mike Rinker will fly the PT-17 Stearnman over the park, with rides offered for a $100 tax deductible donation.

All proceeds raised with the flights will go to enhance the Military Gallery, where the Stearnman will be on permanent display for the public.

Registration for the airplane rides will be made at Everett Stewart airport, with flights scheduled to run from 11:00 until 3:00.
